In one week from today, Jacob, Scotty and myself (Chris) will be heading to Haiti. You can read more here.
There are two things that we want:
1. We want you to go with us. Here’s how you can do that:
2. Pray with us and for us. This Thursday, and Friday, we’re going to have a time of fasting for the trip. If you could join us, fast a meal, or maybe fast the day, and pray, that would be great. We will post a few specific needs tomorrow.
Also, would you fast one day next week as we will be in Haiti, serving the Haitian people, learning from key leaders and processing how we can help.
So, if you’re willing to pray and or fast, please leave a comment on this blog. That will be really helpful, and encouraging! And we would hate to assume, that we can go to Haiti, with God’s presence, love, wisdom and strength.

When: June 25 (ish) to July 6th (ish)
Where: Mudabula, S. Africa (rural village)
Cost: $2500-$2800
Trip Synopsis
HELP will be partnering with ServLife Africa which had been in relationship with a local church, in a
rural village S. African Village, for nearly three years. During that time, they have assisted in building a new church to replace the shack where the church currently meets and have led teams to assist the church in growing its ministry to
children by holding special Kids’ Club activities during school holidays. GFCC and the church leadership have been
proactive in community development and have cared for widows and orphans in their village for many years despite a
lack of resources and available support. This summer (late June till early July) a team of people will continue our work in the village of Mudabula near the Zimbabwean border and will work alongside church members to begin developing lasting collaborative relationships. You will work on the construction site for approximately half of your time and will spend the other half running a children’s Bible school style program for up to 150-175 local children. The trip will end with a time of debriefing in Kruger National Park- one of Africa’s premier wild game destinations.
Goals
The easiest goals to set are construction targets or numbers of children who will participate in programs. However, the
main goal of the trip as seen by the host church will be the formation of relationships, and this should become the team’s
ultimate goal as well. Listening and learning from your South African hosts will be the main posture team members
should assume. Team members will grow in flexibility and adaptability. Through nightly directed Bible discussions and
prayer times, the spiritual and emotional growth of team members will also be a high priority goal.
Usually we will have longer to plan the trip. But this trip is soon, so we have to know if you’re going ASAP.
Also, you can fundraise for this trip and your donors will get a tax write-off.
